Melissa Sue Sharer

Melissa Sue Sharer of Great Bend PA, stepped into eternity and into the arms of Jesus on November 27, 2021. She was met at the gates of Heaven by her grandmother, Ida Sharer, and her uncle Russell Sharer. Melissa leaves behind her loving mother, Tina Sharer; her three very loved children Dustin Burdick, Makala Sharer and Marissa Sharer; her brother, Christopher Sharer; her niece, Destiny; her nephew, Donovan; her grandparents, Gary and Shirley Sharer; her aunt, Janice Stone; her extended family, including her Great Uncles, Great Aunts, and many cousins. She also leaves behind a legion of friends and a whole bunch of “adopted” kids that became hers just because she loved them all. Melissa was beautiful. Not only outwardly but her heart was beautiful. She loved life and she loved people. She always knew how to have fun in any situation. She loved to go out and dance. She loved karaoke. She loved taking photographs of everything and everyone. She was always wanting to capture every moment. She loved Christmas and would start decorating as early as possible. She was funny and she was fun and she was adored by so many. Melissa took care of her mother Tina every day. She was a wonderful daughter. But where she really excelled was at being a mother. From the moment her son Dustin was born, then Makala, and Marissa, they became and remained the center of her universe. She thrived at being a mom. It truly was the calling on her life. Alone she raised these kids and there was never a moment of their lives that they didn’t know how truly loved and wanted they were. And this wasn’t limited to the three she birthed. She would take in any kid that needed a mom figure in their life and make them feel like they were hers as well. She never had riches of any kind. But somehow, she managed to build a home and a life for her family. They always had a roof over their heads, shoes on their feet and food in their bellies. She was a cheer mom and a football mom. At every game, every practice, every event there she sat in the stands, camera in hand cheering on not only the players but the cheerleaders. Melissa Sue Sharer may not have been famous or did anything that would make her stand out in a crowd. But she will be remembered by anyone who was blessed enough to have been in her life for even just a moment. She will be remembered for her kindness to people. She will be remembered for the love she shared with anyone who was in need of love and attention at that time. She will be remembered for her heart. And for the joy she found in simple things. Christmas lights, flowers, dolphins and just hanging out with a friend. Rest in peace sweet girl. We will see you in Heaven. There will be a celebration of life on Thursday December 2nd at the South New Milford Baptist Church 2967 Harford Road New Milford PA at 11:00 AM. There will be calling hours before the service starting at 10:00 AM.
