WALTER “DUTCH” SMITH Walter “Dutch” Smith, 86, of Great Bend, PA entered into rest on May 30, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Retha. He is also survived by Tom and Jodi Smith, Tim and Nora Smith, and Terry Franks; six grandchildren, Lisa and John Bennett, Matthew and Erin Smith, Jennifer and Dan Wenger, Heather and Todd Spry, Tiffany and Dustin Yannuzzi, and Zach Smith; seven great grandchildren, Tatum and Gavin, Levi, Camden, Gianna, Max, and Teagan; three brothers, Tuffy and Carol Smith, Carl and Betty Smith, and Glen and Jeanette Smith; one sister, Esther and Bill McLaughlin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Florence Smith, his parents, Roderick and Nina Smith, three brothers, Elmer, Nelson, and George Smith, a sister, Evelyn Shimer, and a son-in-law, Joseph Franks. Dutch was employed at the Hallstead Iron Foundry for 37 years. He loved stock car racing, sports, hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren play ball. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Interment will be made in South Montrose Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hallstead Ball Field, c/o the Hallstead Boro, P.O. Box 366, Hallstead, PA 18822.
