VIRGINIA J. WOOD On June 23, 2022, Virginia fulfilled her purpose here and went to her Heavenly home to see Jesus face to face, with her husband and daughter by her side. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, David; her children, Karen (David) Wasson, Cindy Wood, Kevin (Laurie) Wood, and Wendy (Charles) Brundza; grandchildren, Melissa Wasson, Austin, and Connor Brundza, and Norah Wood; sister, Mary (Robert) Young; brothers, Roger Chidester, Robert (Mary) Chidester, Douglas (Carol) Chidester, and Edward (Marcia) Chidester; a brother-in-law, Paul Ranucci; a sister-in-law, Cally Wood; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including multiple area children who adopted her as “grandma.” She was predeceased by her parents, Merle and Phyllis Chidester; a brother, Gene Chidester; a sister-in-law, Anne Chidester; and 16 other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Virginia served her Lord by serving others. She had a special gift for working with children: babysitting, helping in the church nursery, and volunteering for the Awana Youth Program. She enjoyed serving, reading, baking, and caring for her family. Virginia was the heart of her home and she will be deeply missed. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to a charity benefitting children.
