Emily Ann Moss Darrow Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Emily Ann Moss Darrow went to be with Jesus on May 8, 2022 at the age of 84, capping off a life filled with love for God, family, friends, and the community. Emily lived in New Milford for most of her life and treasured her local roots, though she moved to Texas in recent years to spend treasured time with her youngest grandchildren. Mrs. Darrow was a well-known figure at area schools- first as an elementary educator at Montrose School District and then, after a break to raise her children, as a substitute and ISS monitor at Blue Ridge- where she was known for her zany toe sock collection and how much she cared for the students. Emily also enjoyed sports, coaching a Little League baseball team with her husband for more than a decade and cheering from the stands for years after that. She was strong and stubborn, she had a big personality and a bigger heart, and she will be sorely missed. Emily was predeceased by her husband Milton (Mick) Darrow, sister Elizabeth Steadman and brother-in-law Donald, brother Ogden Moss and sister-in-law Effie, and brother John Moss and sister-in-law Bette. She is survived by her four children- Myrtle Anthony, Michelle Benites (husband James), Milton Darrow, and Melinda Darrow; six beloved grandchildren- Elizabeth Conklin, Anakin Major, Madisyn Anthony, and Jovita, Mercedes, and Eliana Benites; and several special nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday May 24th at 11 am at the First Baptist Church in New Milford, PA; friends may call the previous evening on Monday May 23rd from 4-7 pm at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home. As the family is traveling from out of state, and in consideration of elderly or immune-compromised friends, the family would like to respectfully encourage mask wearing at the viewing. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation could direct it towards dementia research or the Pratt Memorial Library.
