Mrs. Jessie M. Cook

Jessie M. Cook of New Milford, PA Jessie M. Cook of New Milford, PA, was ushered into the presence of her Savior on May 26, 2012 at the age of 95. Jessie was born on August 10, 1916, the daughter of Walter and Hallie Benson Mosher in New Milford, PA. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 67 years, Irwin H. Cook in 2007. She is survived by one daughter, Connie Barnes, Great Bend, PA; and three sons, Gerald (Susan) Cook, Chapel Hill, TN, Richard (Audrey) Cook, Susquehanna, PA, and Daniel (Mary Kay) Cook, Ashville, NY. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Matthew Barnes, Gary and Sarah Stumbo, Andrew and Jen Barnes, Chris and Hannah Taylor, Luke Barnes, Joel and Abigail Cook, Burnie and Karen Goosby, David and Kyra Cook, Amy Cook, Dan and Christi Lewis, Tim and Sarah Cook, Chris and Carolyn Clark, Chris and Lisa Battista; and twenty-one great-grandchildren, Joshua, Abby, Elizabeth, Rylee, Leah, Nissi, Cadence, Skylar, Hannah, Lyssette, Brighton, Shepherd, Isaiah, Nathanael, Nathan, Simeon, Emma, Caleb, Bryce, Glacier, and Canyon; a sister-in-law Helen Perry and her husband Lawrence; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jessie retired in 1979 after 33 years of teaching in the Blue Ridge School District. She was an active member of the South New Milford Baptist Church and spent her life serving her Lord and Savior touching many lives with her love, compassion, and hospitality. She loved family gatherings, playing board games with her grandchildren, singing, playing the piano, and making music with the family. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and had a special place in the hearts of her students. She was beloved by every member of her family. A funeral service will be held at the South New Milford Baptist Church, Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 11:00a.m., with Rev. Daniel Cook officiating. Interment will be in the New Milford Cemetery, New Milford, PA. Calling hours will be held at the South New Milford Baptist Church, Tuesday from 7-9p.m. and an hour before the funeral service. She will be greatly missed, but it is a comfort to know that she is with her Lord and Savior.
