Linda L. Gordon

LINDA L. GORDON Linda L. Gordon, 82, of Franklin Hill, PA was called home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2024. She was predeceased by her first husband, Andrew Derrick Jr.; then by her second husband, Thomas J. White; then by her third husband, John J. Gordon; her parents, Samuel W. and Mildred L. Travis; her step mother, Pauline Travis; and her brothers, Samuel A. Travis, Jack Travis, Jerome Travis, and Richard “Pete” Travis; a granddaughter, Dawn Leona Raub; and a step son, William White. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Charles) DeGraw, Cheryl L. Tingley, Lori A. (Earl “Zeb” Jr.) Raub, and Jenny R. (Michael) Shiptoski; step children, Jay White, Ernie Gordon, Debra Gordon, and Linda Gordon; many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Travis; a half sister, Deborah O’Hara; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Linda worked at Johnson Camping (Eureka) for 20 years, ending in Research and Design. She enjoyed her retirement in Florida and on the St. Lawrence River. Linda had a zest for life, camping, riding Harleys, fishing, driving fast, known as “lead foot Linda.” Her CB handle was “Fearless.” She was skilled in crocheting, making clothing, afghans, slippers, and winter hats, mittens, scarfs, and gloves. Linda sustained many hard losses, starting with her brother in WWII, then her mother, when she was 8, and continuing throughout her life. All the hard losses she came through, made her the woman she was. She was very determined and strove to care for the needs of others, her family, co-workers, and numerous friends. She constantly sent cards out in the mail and showed her support in various ways. She was devoted to her family, and full of love and compassion. She was always willing to help find solutions for any problem, although sometimes the solution started with “you made your bed…” Linda was passionate, unique, and a force to be reckoned with. There will never be another Linda and her loss is deeply felt. The daughters wish to show their appreciation to Dr. Kirk Hinkley IV and the staff of Barnes-Kasson Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion shown to our mother. The family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date. Inurnment will be made in Brookdale Cemetery, “A rose between two thorns.” Arrangements under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc.
